I love outings with the D-girls~!! We always have fun even though it’s been a while since we’ve seen each other. This time was no different…chiding gonju…byung! and listening to lizzard talk about roma…suge listening intently….and byuntae being byuntae…=D
Jumbo Shrimp, fresh spinach, garlic, diced plum tomatoes, and prosciutto ham, sauteed in marinara sauce and served over linguine.
Jumbo Shrimp sauteed with fresh mushrooms, bell peppers, onions and garlic in marinara and served over linguine.
Rigatoni Pasta tossed with prosciutto ham, green peas, diced plum tomatoes in a alfredo sauce.
Chicken Breast sauteed with mushrooms and marsala wine sauce served with a side of linguine marinara.
The Carlo had way too many diced tomatoes and they looked like canned stewed tomatos so I really don’t know about the whole…”diced plum tomatos” part…=T The proscuitto was also really clumpy and salty. The linguine was a bit watery and the shrimp should have been cleaned and deveined. They definitely could have done this one better…
The Shrimp Cacciatore used the same sauce as the Carlo but it had mushrooms, bell peppers and onions…so obviously it tasted the same. BF said the Carlo was lighter tasting but I really couldn’t taste the difference. I did like the mushrooms though.
The Rigatoni Scotto was nice and creamy due to the alfredo sauce. The prosciutto adds the nice saltiness to the dish and the peas didn’t make much of a difference.
The Chicken Marsala I did not get to taste so I can’t give a review on it…=P
gonju…BYUNG’s dish doesn’t count because she changed it….such a picky eater!!!!
I also had the White Zinfandel with the Carlo. It was sweet and could have gone with any of the dishes. It’s also a cheap wine and I’m not much of an oenophile so I liked it…oenophiles might not because of it’s sweetness and lightness.
Amicci’s despite the mediocre food, has a very nice and cozy atmosphere. Hallways and seating arrangements may seem a little cramped but in reality it isn’t at all. They also just remodeled their bar so you could sit there as well. The dining experience is very casual, the waitresses wear t-shirts and jeans. They also have an upstairs that can be opened up for larger parties.
